Welcome to ADL Editorial.
I am a qualified freelance copy-editor and proofreader with more than fifteen years’ experience. After living in London for more than forty years and balancing freelance editorial work with other employment, I moved to the south of Italy in 2017 and became a full-time copy-editor and proofreader. It’s definitely warmer out here, and with several rescue cats and dogs (read about them all here: Twiglet and Crew), it seems there is no rest for the wicked.
I trained with The Publishing Training Centre (PTC) and the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), and I work with publishers, literary consultancies and self-publishing authors.
I have copy-edited or proofread the following genres:

- Children’s Fiction
- Crime & Mystery

I edit on screen using Track Changes in Word or annotations on PDF, and I also work on hard copy using the British Standards Institution symbols (BS 5261C:2005).
I am a Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading and follow their Membership Codes.
My interest in language stems from my Italian background and I studied French and German to degree level, spending a year in Germany as an English Language Assistant. I have also taught English as a Foreign Language to both young and adult students.
